Planning a 339-Mile Journey

Although the walk itself begins in April 2027, the planning has already started.
A 339-mile journey doesn't happen overnight. Every stage needs careful thought, from choosing safe walking routes and calculating daily distances to planning accommodation and identifying places where I can meet clubs, organisations and supporters along the way.
One of the aims of the challenge is to connect with communities across England, so the route is about much more than simply getting from Axminster to Liverpool. I'm looking at opportunities to visit grassroots football clubs, meet local organisations and encourage conversations wherever possible.
There are plenty of practical considerations too, including equipment, training, transport, fundraising and making sure everything is in place before the first day of the walk.
There's still a lot to do, but that's all part of the journey.
I'll continue sharing updates as the route develops and look forward to taking you behind the scenes as everything comes together.
